Y.W.C.A. WORLD FELLOWSHIP WEEK

Mr. William Wah, secretary of the Chinese Association of New Zealand, addressed members of the Y.W.C.A. last night at a meeting arranged by the business and professional women's club as part of the Y.W.C.A.'s World Fellowship Week. Mr. Wah, telling of the birth, struggles, and future of the Chinese Republic, dealt particularly with China's attitude to the war with Japan.

China was confident that she would win, Mr. Wah said. When a nation did not bow in spirit to the conqueror, as China was not doing, that country would live.

For the future, Mr. Wah said, he would like to see China take its rightful place among the Commonwealth of Nations. Millions of Chinese would gladly die to achieve this end peaceably, but the same millions were ready and willing to give their lives in war should it be necessary.

Mr. Wah was thanked by Miss M. Campbell, who was in the chair. The hostesses were members of the club and of the world fellowship committee.
