Lily Yen (Nee Lily Chin Ting) was married to Ernest Hai Yeng in 1923, at the Chinese Anglican Mission Church Hall in Frederick Street.[1]

Lily Yen was a sister of Joseph Ting, Mother to Douglas Ernest Yen[2], who was born on 20 March 1924 in Wellington[2], Mother-in-Law to Nancy Wah Lee[2], and Grandmother to Richard Ernest Yen[2] and Catherine Eleanor Yen Clayman[2].

Owner and operator of L Yen & Company[3].

On 22 February 1947, Lily was part of a group photographed alongside pianist Lili Krause, at the Wellington Town Hall.[4] The women sold autographed programmes at the event. Proceeds from the sale of programmes went to Corso in China. [4]
